Denver police seek help finding suspect in firework case that injured 15-year-old boy

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police were out canvassing the neighborhood near West Kentucky Avenue and South Lowell Boulevard Wednesday, passing out flyers and seeking information on a pyrotechnic case that seriously injured a 15-year-old boy’s eye.

Detective Jack Bishop said the aggravated assault happened last Thursday, May 29th, at about 9:10 p.m. The 15-year-old, who lives nearby, was in the vehicle with his mother, two other children and a family friend.

That’s when someone either threw or launched a pyrotechnic, likely a firework, at their passing vehicle. The firework exploded and shattered a rear window, seriously injuring the boy’s eye.

“It could be possible loss of vision. Our hope is that he will regain some of his vision,” Bishop said…
