New indoor theme park to replace old movie theater in Thornton

DENVER (KDVR) — What was once a movie theater and fitness workout facility at Thornton Town Center will soon hold go-karts, laser tag and a roller coaster.

The former movie theater and fitness center at 10001 Grant St. in Thornton is turning into an indoor theme park known as Malibu Jack’s. Jester FEC, the team behind the theme park, has already started transforming it.

Malibu Jack’s started in 2013 and turns vacant buildings into theme parks. It has seven locations throughout the Midwest, and soon, there will be another in the Denver metro built at Thornton Town Center.

The park will have go-karts, bowling, a drop tower, a roller coaster, miniature golf, laser tag, motion theater rides, a kids’ play zone, an arcade and more. It will also open up about 100 jobs in the community, and it’s currently hiring.

“Our goal has always been to find a way that we, as entrepreneurs, could also make a positive impact on our communities.
