These Colorado areas could see the first 100-degree day this week

DENVER (KDVR) — It’s getting hotter and hotter, and soon, some Colorado cities, including Denver, could see temperatures that don’t come every year: 100 degrees.

A 100-degree day isn’t all that common in Colorado.

Since the National Weather Service started keeping records in 1872, Denver has recorded 111 days with over 100 degrees in the last 150 years. This averages to less than one 100-degree day a year. While Denver doesn’t always hit 100 degrees during the year, some years are hotter than others.

While Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Travis Michels said it’s hard to predict how many days could hit triple digits this summer, there are a few days this week that could hit 100 degrees around Colorado.
