Cherry Creek residents say police response lacking as car break-ins spike

DENVER (KDVR) — A recent string of car break-ins in one of Denver’s wealthiest neighborhoods has residents and business owners questioning the effectiveness of local police patrols.

According to the Denver Police Department’s crime data, at least 25 vehicles were broken into in the Cherry Creek area in the past month. Several victims told FOX31 the actual number is likely much higher, because many people don’t bother reporting incidents they feel won’t be investigated.

Moe Torabbeigi, who owns a business in the area, said his cars were broken into twice in two separate secure garages.

“I called police, they just gave a report on the phone — they didn’t even show up,” Torabbeigi said…
