Plows called to clear hail from Aurora roadways that left motorists stranded

DENVER (KDVR) — Hail in Aurora caused drivers some grief on Wednesday night as it coated the roadways and piled up into drifts.

A FOX31 photojournalist who got to the area shortly after the hailstorm found at least one vehicle stuck in the waves of hail that were covering some Aurora roadways.

The hail was reported in the area of Delmar Parkway and Geneva Street. The roadways border the property for the Aurora West College Preparatory School, south of Colfax.

FOX31’s Jared Dean was live at the scene on Wednesday night, where a snowplow was clearing the hail from the roadways. He said there was easily over half a foot of hail on the road.

Police were helping pull cars from the mounds of hail as a snowplow moved the majority of the icy debris from the roadways…
