Denver pays Salvation Army $19.2 million to run three homeless hotels through 2026

Despite having names like “Stone Creek,” “The Aspen” and “Tamarac,” three former hotels operated by the Salvation Army in Denver are anything but serene. Despite the shelters’ rough reputations, the City Council agreed Monday to pay the Salvation Army $19.2 million to keep guests of the properties off the streets.
