Inmate at Denver’s downtown jail arrested in murder investigation of fellow inmate: police

DENVER (KDVR) — An inmate at Denver’s Downtown Detention Center was arrested Monday for investigation into the first-degree murder of another inmate with whom he shared a housing unit, according to the Denver Police Department.

A Denver sheriff’s deputy on Monday at about 2:15 a.m. responded to an unresponsive man in a housing unit at the detention center, and the man was pronounced deceased shortly after the sheriff’s office and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures.

Denver police investigators found signs that the victim had been assaulted and that the injuries likely resulted in the victim’s death, according to a police press release…
