DENVER (KDVR) — On Friday, you might be able to see fighter aircrafts across the Denver metro while F-16C Fighting Falcons fly in the skies to celebrate Independence Day.
The Fourth of July, also known as Independence Day, celebrates the ratification of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and is celebrated in many ways. Some people spend the day at a grill out or pool party, while others celebrate with parades and all things red, white and blue.
Will it rain on the Fourth of July?
The Colorado Air National Guard is celebrating the holiday with flyovers that will take place on Friday. Starting in the morning, F-16C Fighting Falcons, which are fighter aircrafts, will launch from Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora and head through several Denver metro areas for a few hours.

“What better way to demonstrate our independence as a nation than with a show of force featuring our mighty F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft as they blaze a trail across the beautiful State of Colorado this Fourth of July,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Carrie Worrell, commander, 140th Wing. “The Colorado Air National Guard proudly defends our state and nation to maintain this wonderful and precious independence, and you will likely hear our ‘sound of freedom’ before you see us.”…
