FBI still searching for man who ‘fled from the courtroom’ when convicted of assault in 1999

DENVER (KDVR) — The FBI is still searching for a man who “fled from the courtroom” while a guilty verdict was being read against him in 1999.

According to the FBI, Francisco Molina-Neave, 52, is wanted for assault and prohibited use of a weapon. The case stems from reports on July 5, 1997, where witnesses saw Molina-Neave begin punching his girlfriend while they were driving home from a holiday party in the metro area.

After she stopped the car and pulled over, Molina-Neave allegedly got out, walked to the driver’s side of the car and continued to beat his girlfriend. He continued until a passerby intervened, according to the FBI.

Molina-Neave fled the scene, and the passerby flagged down a vehicle with more witnesses who saw the beating. The passerby allegedly asked the witnesses in the car to try and locate the suspect, and they were successful, spotting Molina-Neave a short distance away…
