How Colorado cities rank in nations best and worst for renters: Study

DENVER (KDVR) — Though mortgage rates are down and inventory is high for the local home buyers market, home sales have not kept up, and many Coloradans continue to rent.

Some cities are particularly friendly for Colorado renters, a recent WalletHub study found.

Denver ranks among America’s best cities in new list

Researchers at the personal finance website compared over 180 large rental markets across the nation based on 21 metrics for rental attractiveness and quality of life, to determine which cities are the best and worst for renters.

Denver ranked on the better half of WalletHub’s list of the best and worst cities for renters in 2025, while its sister city, Aurora, is considered one of the worst cities for renters.
