Beloved Denver Drum Shop to Close After 41 Years

On a street in south Denver stands a musical instrument shop that has been in business for over forty years. Soon, this shop will close its doors for good.

Rupp’s Drums Ends a 41-Year Legacy

On Friday, July 18, the Denver drum shop located on South Holly Street announced via Facebook that after 41 years of serving Colorado drummers, the shop has reached its final chapter.

Alex Simpson purchased Rupp’s Drums in 2018 with a goal to revitalize the legendary business and pump up Colorado drummers across the state. The announcement said that after seven years of financial success and more than 15,000 new customers served over those years, the goal was achieved.

However, this will not stop Rupp’s Drums from closing its doors. The Facebook post says that effective immediately, all inventory will be liquidated, and the final day of operation for the iconic Colorado drum store will be on August 31, 2025.
