Body found in Westminster open space where human bone was found earlier this month

DENVER (KDVR) — On Thursday morning, Westminster police detectives found a body with personal belongings in the open space near 122nd Avenue and Park Centre Drive.

The discovery came six days after a resident reported finding what appeared to be a human bone in the area while walking along the trail nearby. The open space is near the Big Dry Creek Park and The Ranch Open Space and is situated between several neighborhoods.

The Westminster Police Department reported that the agency had detectives, criminalists and a cadaver dog from the Colorado Bureau of Investigations at the scene on Thursday after the discovery at about 9 a.m.
