Illegal magic mushroom-laced chocolate bars found in Denver-area stores, gas stations

DENVER (KDVR) — Consumers are being warned by officials of possible chocolate bars with psilocybin mushrooms inside found at Denver area gas stations and vape stores.

Since the city found out about this, it has been sending out notices to all of the vape shops in Denver, letting them know they could face repercussions if they sell these products.

“If you’re running a store in Denver and you get a letter that says, we guarantee this doesn’t have any type of psilocybin, the product of magic mushrooms in it, well, that may not be true as well,” said Eric Escudero, communications director for the city and county of Denver’s Excise and Licenses department.

A warning was sent out to convenience stores, vape shops and gas stations across the metro area, saying in part: “These products might not be labeled with their actual ingredients and pose a danger to public health.”…
