DENVER (KDVR) — A Denver metro area charter school is closing its doors ahead of the 2025-2026 school year, citing budget woes.
Colorado Skies Academy was a tuition-free public charter school based in Englewood on the grounds of the Centennial Airport. It was set to welcome children for the next school year beginning Aug. 11. Now, parents are scrambling to find education for their children.

The closure was announced in an email on Friday, and the school’s website is now entirely taken up by a letter and FAQ section.
“Despite every effort over the past year to secure additional funding and stabilize our budget, we are no longer financially able to operate the school,” Colorado Skies Academy said on its website. “After careful consideration and a thorough review of our financial outlook, our Board of Directors has made the incredibly difficult decision to close the school, effective immediately.”…
