Pedestrian killed in early morning crash in Aurora

DENVER (KDVR) — A pedestrian was killed in Aurora after she was hit in a crash early Tuesday morning.

Just after 7 a.m., the Aurora Police Department said a 72-year-old woman, who was a pedestrian, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died after a crash in the area of South Havana Street and East Jewell Avenue.

This is between the Dayton Triangle and Village East neighborhoods, near Ponderosa Elementary School and Havana Square.

Aurora police in a press release said the woman was using a walker and crossing Jewell as vehicles were stopped at a red light when she hit a hole in the pavement and fell into traffic. The woman was not using a crosswalk, police said…
