THORNTON, Colo. (KDVR) — Thornton police are releasing new body camera footage showing officers stopping suspected street racers.
It’s one of the few cases where one of the drivers actually pulled over, but police say that’s not how these encounters usually go. Most drivers flee, creating a dangerous situation on city streets.

“It’s good police work and the fact that we really increased our numbers in specifically this kind of enforcement,” said Traffic Sgt. Bradley with the Thornton Police Department. “Also, we’ve increased our numbers a lot in the city as far as police officers in general.”
