DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is asking residents to set out trash, recycling, compost carts and large item pickup items by 6 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. on their scheduled collection day, going forward.
DOTI said Tuesday that the change is being made to accommodate equipment operators starting their day earlier. The agency said it is also acceptable to set carts out the night before collection day.

The city’s Solid Waste Management will also be shifting some of its collection schedules for staff schedules and holidays, according to DOTI, which said compost will not be collected the week of Aug. 25, with staff taking a furlough day on Friday, Aug. 29.
All compost collections will resume the week of Sept. 1 on a one-day delayed schedule, for staff to observe Labor Day, DOTI said.
