A high-tech surveillance system known as Flock has aided Denver Police in making multiple arrests tied to a single stolen vehicle, resulting in the apprehension of two suspects with outstanding warrants. The Denver Police Department shared details of the operation in a social media post, outlining how officers spotted and followed a blue car with missing license plates on August 12, tracking it from West Colfax Avenue in Denver to an apartment complex in Aurora.
During what the police described as covert surveillance, the Flock system verified that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a nearby area. Officers observed as the adult female passenger and the suspect driver made several trips to and from the stolen car. According to the Denver Police Department, the driver was apprehended when she exited the vehicle while the passenger was inside.
The operation then continued until the passenger returned to the vehicle, when she was also safely taken into custody. The driver faced arrest for investigation of motor vehicle theft and active felony warrants related to burglary and motor vehicle theft.
