Thornton animal control removes 66 cats, a dead kitten from apartment

DENVER (KDVR) — This week, the Thornton Police Department’s Animal Control officers removed dozens of cats from a home near Hunters Glen Lake.

The officers had been sent to an apartment in the 12900 block of Washington Street on Monday after building management reported a “large number” of cats inside the apartment and “poor living conditions.”

On Wednesday, officers returned to the apartment with a search warrant. They recovered 66 living cats from inside the apartment and one dead kitten.
