Yesterday, Denver District Attorney John Walsh announced the sentencing of Pa Reh, who has been given life in prison without the chance for parole for the murder of Ma Kaing. This conclusion comes after a jury convicted Reh of First-Degree Murder on July 15, as detailed by the Denver Police Department in a social media post.
Reh, along with three other defendants, was charged with the July 2022 shooting death of 42-year-old community leader Ma Kaing on Xenia Street in east Denver. While one co-defendant was similarly found guilty of First-Degree Murder and will serve life in prison, the other two pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder and are set to be sentenced in September.
