Woman found shot, dead in a vehicle; person of interest in custody: Brighton police

DENVER (KDVR) — The Brighton Police Department is investigating after finding a woman dead in a car on Friday morning with an apparent gunshot wound.

The agency said the homicide investigation began just after 9:15 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of North 6th Avenue, where officers were called to investigate an abandoned vehicle. The area is a residential neighborhood north of Bridge Street and east of Highway 85.

Officers, upon arriving at the scene, found a dead woman estimated to be about 30 years old with an apparent gunshot wound.

The police department said that there is no threat to the public “as a person of interest has been identified and is currently in custody on unrelated charges.”…
