Man threw knife, meat cleaver at Broomfield officers during hotel standoff, affidavit says

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A man wanted on multiple felony warrants charged out of a Broomfield hotel room and tossed a knife and meat cleaver at officers resulting in an hours long standoff, according an affidavit for his arrest.

Brett Carlini now faces two counts of attempted murder of a peace officer related to the incident on Aug. 28.

Around 11:30 a.m. that morning, Broomfield officers responded to the Woodspring Suites located at 121 Edgeview Drive for a report of a man wanted on several felony warrants for violent crimes…
