Aurora Officer’s Shooting of Rajon Belt-Stubblefield Sparks Community Outcry

At approximately 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Billings Street in Aurora, Officer James Snapp shot and killed Rajon Belt-Stubblefield following a traffic stop.

Video captured by bystanders shows Belt-Stubblefield exiting his vehicle and approaching the officer. Witnesses state that Belt-Stubblefield was directed to exit his vehicle by Officer Snapp. As he turned his head, apparently pointing toward the accident, the officer punched him in the back of the head. Belt-Stubblefield moved toward Snapp and raised his fists. Snapp then fires multiple rounds, dropping Belt-Stubblefield to the ground. Witnesses say no medical aid was given for an extended period, while the officer was quickly driven away from the scene…
