Since launching in 2023, Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All program has become a cornerstone of daily life for hundreds of thousands of students. Now, supporters have launched a statewide campaign this week urging voters to approve funding measures in November because the program’s current funding expires at the end of this year.
Campaign events held in Colorado Springs, Lakewood and Grand Junction brought together a coalition of farmers, parents, nutrition workers and educators around the message that every child deserves a healthy meal at school, regardless of their family’s income.
Without voter approval of Propositions LL and MM, the program that currently serves more than 600,000 free meals daily to Colorado students will be dramatically scaled back starting in January.
