DENVER — State Senate District 35 candidate Travis Nelson said he plans to continue pressing on with his campaign, in spite of a Colorado Democratic Party censure and severe sanctions which will make his path to Denver decidedly more difficult.
Following an Aug. 18 hearing before the CDP’s Controversy Committee on a complaint filed by Las Animas County Democratic Party Chair Pam Espinoza, CDP Chairman Shad Murib sent a notification to Nelson last week of the committee’s decision. It reads:
“As a result of being found to have violated one or more portions of the Colorado Democratic Party Code of Conduct, this committee recommends to the Colorado Democratic Party Chair, Shad Murib, that the following sanctions be placed upon Mr. Travis Nelson for the duration of two years:…
