Man accused of threatening to harm law enforcement arrested in Aurora after CSP chase

DENVER (KDVR) — A man wanted out of Weld County on a felony warrant for multiple charges was arrested Friday afternoon in Aurora after leading police on a chase into the metro area.

Samuel Reed, 44, was reportedly located and arrested at about 1:35 p.m. on Friday after a coordinated effort by the Greeley Police Department, Aurora Police Department and Colorado State Patrol that involved ground units and aerial support.

Reed was wanted on a felony warrant out of Weld County for multiple charges that include second-degree burglary, third-degree assault and harassment with a domestic violence enhancer. CSP reported that Reed was on parole for child abuse and under a protection order for manufacturing a controlled substance in the presence of a child.

The Greeley Police Department first contacted the Colorado State Patrol for assistance on Friday. The agency shared that the suspect was driving a 2017 Subaru WRX and was considered armed and dangerous. The Greeley Police Department said that Reed had made threats to harm law enforcement and to engage in “suicide by cop.”…
