Police: Shuttle bus driver was at-fault in deadly Commerce City crash

DENVER (KDVR) — Investigators have determined that a shuttle bus driver was at fault in a crash that killed one person and injured 10 others in July, the Commerce City Police Department announced Friday.

The crash happened on Tower Road on July 12. The police department said in a press release that it completed its investigation and is recommending the following charges against the shuttle driver, identified as Kwame Adjei-Broni:

  • Careless driving causing death
  • Careless driving causing injury
  • Failure to yield

According to police, the shuttle bus was at a flashing yellow arrow light waiting to make a left turn onto East 81st Avenue when it turned in front of a pickup truck traveling south on Tower Road.

The driver of the truck had the right-of-way and crashed with the shuttle bus police said. The driver and passenger of the truck were taken to a hospital with serious injuries…
