Aurora police arrest man who allegedly killed another driver during high-speed chase Thursday

Aurora Police Department officers arrested a man on felony charges Thursday on suspicion of killing another driver while trying to evade authorities during a high-speed chase.

Don Mai Phan, 25 of Aurora, was booked into the Aurora Municipal Detention Center at around 7 p.m. Thursday and faces felony charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular eluding, as well as misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and speeding, in connection with a fatal crash that took place at the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Blackhawk Street Thursday afternoon, according to a news release from the APD.

The victim — a 25-year-old male driver of a Honda sedan — was making a lefthand turn onto Iliff Avenue when Phan ran a red light and crashed into the car, according to the release. The man was pronounced dead on the scene…
