Swastika displayed along I-70 prompts criminal investigation

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Thousands of drivers traveling east toward Denver on Saturday morning were confronted with a sight that was impossible to miss: a massive swastika spread across a hillside near the Morrison exit on Interstate 70.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is investigating the incident, officials calling the display a “vile, antisemitic symbol of hate.”

Jefferson County Open Space officials said the swastika’s location — visible from the highway but difficult to reach — made cleanup challenging. Rangers had to scale up a hill to remove it. By 10 a.m. the tarp material had been cleared away…
