Person found trapped in vehicle after driving off highway and crashing into Colorado creek

During the early morning hours of Tuesday, a crash resulted in a vehicle traveling off of a canyon stretch of Colorado’s Highway 6 and into Clear Creek.

According to Golden Fire-Rescue Local 5080, a report about a vehicle in the water of the Clear Creek Canyon portion of Clear Creek was received at about 3:53 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Units were deployed to the scene to find the silver car in the middle of the creek with one person trapped inside.

A recon team was sent over the edge of the road to make contact with the patient and start the extrication. With the help of Arvada Fire, an uphaul rope system was then used to bring the person to safety with the patient then transported to a local hospital in serious condition…
