Alleged shoplifters brawl with liquor store clerks in Centennial parking lot: Arapahoe Sheriff

DENVER (KDVR) — An alleged shoplifting at a liquor store in Centennial on Wednesday turned into a parking lot brawl after a pair of suspects were confronted by two store clerks, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said that, according to witnesses, the two suspects, identified as a man and a woman, were confronted in the parking lot of Dry Creek Liquors on South University Boulevard after they had allegedly shoplifted “several” items from the store and tried to leave the scene.

Witnesses said the suspects first attempted to back up and hit one of the clerks with their car before accelerating towards the other clerk. One of the clerks, identified as a man, then threw a rock at the back window of the car in an effort to get the driver to stop, according to witnesses.

The sheriff’s office said witnesses then reported the two suspects ultimately got out of their car and assaulted the clerks, with the female suspect allegedly using pepper spray, before the fight spilled back inside the liquor store…
