DENVER (KDVR) — Multiple city of Denver leaders met Thursday to discuss a new task force rolled out to help Denver residents who will be impacted by SNAP going away.
“We are seeing a 20% increase in phone calls even before tomorrow,” a member with Mile High United Way said at the press conference. “And I can tell you those calls are about food and food insecurity.”

Mayor Mike Johnston led the press conference at Denver Inner City Parish and stated that 100,000 people in Denver will lose those benefits. He estimated 30,000 to 50,000 of the 100,000 will be kids.
