Broomfield man loses nearly everything to auction after restoration company forgot to pay a bill

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A Broomfield man is desperately searching for his life’s possessions after a restoration company stored his belongings in a storage unit that was later auctioned off, taking with it decades of family photos and his late wife’s ashes.

Jeff Hersh lost everything when ServPro of Greater Boulder placed his belongings in a storage unit that defaulted, leading to an auction on Sept. 3. Among the items sold were photos of his wife who died 24 years ago, their daughter Kate’s childhood albums, wedding albums, baby albums and his wife’s ashes.
