AURORA, Colo. — For more than 15 years, Patrick Tierney has transformed his home in the 19000 block of Milan Court into an elaborate Halloween display that draws families from across the area, and this year is no exception.
The 62-year-old graphic artist and sculptor has spent approximately 15 to 20 hours over four weekends installing his collection of custom-built creatures and theatrical effects. His 2024 display features about a dozen handcrafted characters, including animated versions of Frankenstein’s monster, Nosferatu and a werewolf, along with Pennywise the clown, various ghouls, witches and skeletons.
“I’m obsessed with it,” Tierney said. “You know, craftsmanship, the artistic nuances and the skill set. It’s all here on display.”
Tierney’s passion for Halloween stems from a personal connection — his birthday falls on Oct. 30, making the holiday season particularly special…
