A man turns grief into action, calls for safety improvements after wife’s death

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — A Colorado man is pushing for safety changes at a busy intersection where his wife was hit and killed by a car last year.

Gerry Goldberg, whose wife Andie died while jogging near their home, has launched a petition urging city officials to improve the intersection of Belleview Avenue and Franklin Street, an area he says has seen multiple crashes.

“My reason for involvement is that after this tragedy happened to me, I thought there really is a need for a light there,” said Gerry Goldberg. “We’ve lived in the neighborhood for a little over 30 years and It’s gotten to the point where we’ve kind of are putting up with the problem, but we know it’s there, and this brought to a head the fact that we really need to confront this and get a traffic light there.”…
