Denver Police to crack down on expired registrations, temporary tags

DENVER — If you live in Denver and you’re not current on your vehicle registration, consider yourself warned.

The Denver Police Department (DPD) said in a release Friday that for a one-month period beginning on Nov. 15, officers will conduct targeted enforcement of expired vehicle registration and expired temporary license plate violations.

DPD said the enforcement effort is in response to community concerns and said this will be their fifth enforcement period on expired registrations since July 2024. The department said that, during a similar one-month enforcement period from mid-April to mid-May of this year, officers issued citations for 656 vehicle registration violations…
