DENVER (KDVR) — A man has been arrested following an overnight crash at East Jewell Avenue and South Peoria Street in Aurora that left another driver dead.
The Aurora Police Department said Saturday that investigators determined a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling easbound on Jewell Avenue ran a red light “at a high rate of speed” before striking a Chevrolet Cruze traveling northbound on Peoria Street.

The driver of the Tahoe, identified as 41-year-old Cornelius Thomas of Aurora, was arrested for vehicular homicide and transported to the Aurora Detention Center, after initially being taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
