Aurora man arrested after allegedly running red light, killing driver Saturday

Police arrested an Aurora man after he allegedly ran a red light and killed another driver early Saturday morning.

Cornelius Thomas, 41, faces vehicular homicide charges after he allegedly hit a Chevy Cruze at the intersection of East Jewell Avenue and South Peoria Street while driving a Chevy Tahoe around 2 a.m. Saturday, the Aurora Police Department said in a news release.

The driver and only occupant of the Cruze, a 28-year-old man, was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. Thomas and a female passenger, the age of whom is currently unknown to police, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries…
