Aurora police arrest drive-by shooting suspect within hours of incident

DENVER (KDVR) — A 21-year-old man was taken into custody by Aurora police officers on Thursday night in connection with a drive-by shooting, police reported Monday.

The Aurora Police Department said that officers were called to investigate shots fired into a home on South Gibraltar Street at about 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, and later learned that the incident was targeted.

Officers had a clear vehicle description from a witness and security camera footage of the suspect driving away, which allowed a sergeant to spot the silver Chrysler with no plates just a few minutes later.

The Chrysler was stopped by Aurora officers soon after, and the driver cooperated with officers. However, the passenger did not.

The passenger, identified as Joshua Busey, 21, refused to comply with officer commands to get on the ground and was arrested after refusing commands and resisting officers, even after they deployed a “less-lethal, 40 MM.”…
