What’s that in the sky? Line of lights spotted traveling across Colorado

DENVER (KDVR) — A line of lights was spotted across several parts of Colorado on Tuesday night — but it might not be as mysterious as it seems.

FOX31 viewers sent in photos of what appears to be a line of white lights on Tuesday night. One viewer reported the lights in the western sky, moving northeast before disappearing. Another photographed the lights in south Parker heading west to east around 5:30 p.m.

While these lights might seem strange, they’re not exactly unusual.

These lights are part of Elon Musk’s satellite system, known as Starlink by SpaceX. Starlink was first launched in 2019, using satellites in space to send internet directly into customer terminals in their office or homes.

According to Find Starlink, a program that helps track Starlink satellites, the satellites were in the area on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, a website created by James Darpinian, a graphics and computer vision engineer with Google, confirmed there were satellites in the area as well.

This isn’t the first time Starlink has been spotted in Colorado. Exactly a year ago, on Nov. 18, Starlink was spotted across the sky in Boulder, Elizabeth and several other metro areas. In October 2023, the line of lights was spotted for over three days…
