New Program Offers Free Training for Skilled Trades and Health Care Jobs in Denver, Englewood, and Arvada

On November 26, 2025, Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Arnold Ventures announced a new investment to increase entry-level jobs in skilled trades and health care in Colorado. The effort is part of the Colorado Partnership for Proven Initiatives, a $20 million, multi-year project to improve economic opportunities in the state. The program will enroll 250 participants at CrossPurpose campuses in Denver, Englewood, and Arvada.

The $4.5 million investment is funded equally by Arnold Ventures and the State of Colorado. It will support the launch of the Ascent program, which is based on Project QUEST, a workforce development program. Ascent will offer training in fields such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, licensed practical nursing, registered nursing, radiologic technology, and surgical technology.

Participants will receive full financial support for tuition, books, transportation, uniforms, and licensing exams. The program also provides coaching, education planning, and other services to help students complete their training.
