DENVER (KDVR) — If you’ve gone holiday shopping this season at The Shops at Northfield in Denver’s Central Park neighborhood, you’ve probably noticed the now-empty anchor store that used to be Macy’s.
The retail store that headed one end of the shopping center announced its closure at the beginning of this year, but the building won’t be empty for long. Coming next year, online furniture company Wayfair will open one of its newest storefronts in Denver in its latest push for large-format in-person locations.

Wayfair opened its first location last year in Wilmette, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, and the announcement of Denver’s location in July marked the third store announced this year. “With our Denver store, we’re thrilled to introduce Wayfair to new customers—from our unbeatable selection to personalized design service and the flexibility to shop wherever they want,” Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores at Wayfair, said in a July press release announcing the Denver location. “Whether browsing the app, visiting us in-store, or finishing up a space at home, we’re here to make it easy—and fun—to create a home they truly love.”…
