DENVER (KDVR) — Castle Rock is mirroring an ordinance from Aurora that fines parents if they allow their child to ride or drive an off-highway vehicle within town limits.
The new ordinance was made in early November and is now in effect. The measure revised the town’s traffic regulations and laws to address the use of motorized and electric vehicles in the town.
The vehicles have been called a “large problem” by Aurora police, and Boulder County deputies called the vehicles “exciting” after a juvenile was injured in a crash where they were riding such a vehicle. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office noted in that incident that the vehicles carry serious risks.
