Arvada man pushes fiancée out of harm’s way before car crash breaks his legs

ARVADA, Colo. — An Arvada man who suffered two broken legs after being struck by a car and pushed into a liquor store says he acted on instinct to protect his fiancée as the vehicle came toward them while they waited for a ride to pick up their daughter from school.

Bill Dehner and his fiancée, Letitia Gaillard, were standing outside Cornerstone Liquor & Wine near Ralston Road and Wadsworth Boulevard when a driver accidentally accelerated through a parking space and struck them on Wednesday, according to Arvada Police.
