DENVER (KDVR) — A Denver landlord says extensive damage and meth contamination inside several apartments at her property has left her with thousands of dollars in repair costs — and she is raising questions about oversight within a local housing-voucher program.
Two units at the White Swan Apartments, located near 13th Avenue and Adams Street, are now posted with health notices after state-certified testing showed methamphetamine residue above Colorado’s safety limits. Under state law, the units cannot be entered again until professional remediation is completed.
Landlord Christina Eisenstein told FOX31 the cleanup alone is estimated at $15,000 per unit, not including structural repairs and other damage she says occurred over the past year. She provided photos and video showing trash, hoarding conditions, and what she described as drug paraphernalia and human waste left inside multiple apartments.
