DENVER — A man charged with killing his girlfriend on an Amtrak train headed for Denver was convicted of first-degree murder Friday.
Prosecutors said that on Sept. 1, 2016, Angelo Mantych killed 28-year-old Marina Placensia on board the train they were riding from Wisconsin to Denver.
According to an arrest affidavit, Placensia, Mantych and their four children took an Amtrak train from Wisconsin to Denver. When the train arrived at Union Station, the affidavit says, Placensia was dead…
