APD: 12, 14-year-olds steal car, evade officers

DENVER (KDVR) — Police caught a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old, who are accused of stealing a car on Saturday afternoon, according to a statement made to FOX31 from the Aurora Police Department.

Around 2 p.m., police spotted a KIA SUV near Chambers Road and East 1st Avenue that did not have a license plate and was believed to be stolen.

Officers began to pursue the vehicle northbound on Chambers Road for less than a minute before the vehicle turned into a shopping center located at Chambers Road and East 6th Avenue and hit a car parked in the lot.

The vehicle then attempted to exit the parking lot, but crashed into a concrete pylon in the area near 5th Avenue and Chambers Road…
