Her uncle created a device called “The Orator” that allows her to communicate with customers.

“She has a point mutation in Chromosome 1, and it hasn’t been described before, so we really don’t know Maddie’s outcome. We know that she has seizures. We know that she can’t walk. We know that she can’t talk using her voice,” said Melissa Meier, Maddie’s mom.
