Las Vegas man pleads guilty to kidnapping Colorado girl

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man who police say drove more than 700 miles in his roommate’s car to kidnap a 14-year-old girl he met online pleaded guilty Monday, according to court records.

Cameron Scruggs, 26, kidnapped the teenager from Aurora, Colorado, on June 17, sparking a search for her across western states that involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.

On Dec. 15, Scruggs pleaded guilty to a felony charge of statutory sexual seduction, court documents showed. He was scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 26, 2026.

On June 25, the FBI and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested Scruggs after they found him and the teenager in a northwest Las Vegas valley apartment.
