Man dies after losing control of car, striking pole in Aurora: APD

DENVER (KDVR) — A man died in a single vehicle crash near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Moline Street in Aurora late Wednesday night.

The Aurora Police Department said a preliminary investigation revealed a Honda Accord was speeding eastbound on East Colfax Avenue at 11:10 p.m. when the driver lost control and struck a pole at Moline Street.

The driver was taken to a local hospital where they later died from their injuries, police said. The man will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash, according to APD, which said both speed and alcohol impairment are being investigated as “possible contributing factors” to the crash…
